Manfrotto 496RC2 Compact Ball Head
The Manfrotto 496RC2 Compact Ball Head is strong enough to take 35mm SLR and DSLR cameras with medium lenses, and light medium format cameras.
The Manfrotto has a single indexed "ratchet" locking knob for 360° pan and +90° -90° tilt movements. Camera attachment is via a 60mm platform with 1/4" male thread. Head to tripod attachment is 3/8" female. All aluminium construction and black finish.
The 496RC2 is the same head as the Manfrotto 496, but with the addition of the RC2 quick-release plate system. Extra quick release plates (MN.200PL14) are available separately - these are the same quick-release plates used by most of the Manfrotto range. Having a quick release plate permanently attached to the bottom of each of your cameras allows you to use different cameras on your monopod without constantly having to screw and unscrew quick release plates.
