Canon PGi-29 Chroma Optimizer ink cartridge overview:

The Canon PGi-29 Lucia Chroma Optimizer has been included in the new Canon PGi29 LUCIA Pigment Ink System to aid in the accuracy and quality of prints. After the colour and monochrome ink is laid down on the media, the printer applies the chroma optimizer to help eliminate the bumps between droplets that at times can reflect light irregularly, resulting in a more uniform and aesthetically pleasing print. It reduces the difference in ink droplet height over the printed image to form a flat and smooth ink layer that regulates surface reflection. The result is evenly reflected light, deep blacks, and bright saturated colors while maintaining the natural color and integrity of your printed photos. In addition to increasing the colour gamut, the chroma optimizer further increases the black density when printing on glossy media types for a deeper, darker black. It is a critical element in attaining professional print quality with accurate colour and reduced metamerism on coated papers.

Canon PGi-29 Lucia ink cartridges offer an increased colour gamut, by virtue of the 12 separate inks that make up the system. These include 5 monochrome ink cartridges, 6 colour ink cartridges, and a chroma optimizer:

• Five separate PGi-29 monochrome cartridges - two Blacks and three Greys - mean incredibly deep, dense blacks are possible, along with accurate and truly neutral monochromatic gradients and tones.
• Six separate PGi-29 colour cartridges - two Cyans, two Magentas, a Yellow and a Red - provide an increased colour gamut, improved skin tone reproduction, vibrant colours with stunning details.
• The separate PGi-29 Chroma Optimizer allows for bright, correctly saturated colours, while regulating surface reflections.
• The PGi-29 Lucia ink tanks are approximately 155% larger than ink tanks used in previous Canon Pixma Pro printers, providing better value for money, and ensuring less time is required replacing inks, guaranteeing more time spent printing, and less time spent charging ink cartridge!
